MPDP 2.0 RESEARCH GRANTS UP FOR GRABS

KUALA LUMPUR – MASA Policy Development Program (MPDP) which was introduced for the first time in September 2021, has received an encouraging response with the receipt of a total of 134 proposal papers from 21 public and private higher education institutions.

As part of MASA’s continuous efforts to promote policy research, MPDP is one of the flagship projects held throughout 2021 and 2022 in line with the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12) which is aligned with the Shared Prosperity Vision (SPV2030) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

A total of 30 Policy Briefs were successfully produced, covering policy research in the fields of economics, social, education and sustainable development.

In line with its role as one of the think tanks that always establishes strategic cooperation with various parties, Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA), once again, is pleased to offer MPDP 2.0 research grants for the year 2023 to think tanks, fellow researchers and academicians from public and private universities.

MPDP 2.0 offers up to RM15,000 in the form of research grant for each research proposal. Successful applicants are required to produce policy briefs and encouraged to publish their respective research findings in the print media, electronic media and/or highly-acclaimed journals.

Those interested must submit their research proposals, reflecting all eight (8) main focuses as preparation in dealing with the challenges of economic recession in 2023 and the upcoming years, on the following themes/issues:

i. Affordable Housing
ii. Food Security
iii. Social Protection
iv. Climate Change
v. Business Acceleration
vi. Upskilling at Scale
vii. Health System Resiliency & Preparedness for Future Crises
viii. Recovering Learning Loss
