Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA) would like to express our gratitude to Dr Hisham A. Hellyer for his insightful lecture on “Future Prospects for Palestine and The Rules Based Order: Consequences of Israel’s War on Gaza” which was jointly organised by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), Malaysian International Studies Association (MyISA), MASA and the Centre for Human Rights Research & Advocacy (CENTHRA) at UKM yesterday.
In exploring the multifaceted impacts of Israel’s military actions on Gaza, it is important to highlight the deterioration of living conditions in Gaza, the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis and the challenges faced by the Palestinian people. Due to the weakening of international norms and the rules-based order, this calls for an urgent need for robust international intervention and the enforcement of human rights standards to address the ongoing conflict and pave the way for a sustainable and just resolution.
