International Mother Earth Day

Let’s commemorate International Mother Earth Day 2023 🌏

Our planet has undergone severe damage from multiple factors such as climate change, pollution, deforestation and man-made disasters. As the world is still healing from the long-standing effects of COVID – 19, our country must focus on safeguarding the environment and prioritise sustainable growth and development.

In line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV 2030) under Enabler 7: Sustainability suggests that there is a dire need for more efforts in government plannings and policies in adopting sustainability. This is because government ministries and agencies, more often than not, place less emphasis on environment preservation and efficient use of resources.

In conjunction with International Mother Earth Day, MASA calls upon all Malaysians to fully embrace Enabler 7 for preservation of the environment and promote sustainable socioeconomic development.
