The importance and challenges of the big data analytics capability were identified. Furthermore, the Big Data Analytics (BDA) capability model was developed that explains how it can add value and support the decision-making process for businesses for SMEs. The model comprises four key constructs: barriers, institutional support, government-universities collaborations, and enablers of Big Data Analytics adoption that can help SMEs to add value and support the decision-making process.
In this study, a qualitative approach was used to gain insight and a deep understanding of the perspectives of the respondents. A total of 14 respondents participated in two focus group discussions held in May 2022. The data collected was analyzed using thematic analysis.
