On October 3rd, 2024, Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA) organised a Round Table Discussion (RTD) with experts to gather suggestions and input in preparation for Budget 2025.
Among the experts who attended the session were:

2. YBhg. Professor Emeritus Dr. Barjoyai Bardai, Professor Emeritus, Malaysia University of Science and Technology;
3. YBrs. Dr. Zouhair Rosli, Senior Researcher, DM Analytics;
4. YBrs. Dr. Firdausi Suffian, Chief Executive Officer, Invest Sabah Berhad;
5. YBrs. Dr. Zulkiply Omar, Senior Research Fellow, Social Wellbeing Research Centre (SWRC), University of Malaya;
6. YBrs. Encik Anas Jalil, Leader, Demi Negara;
7. YBrs. Dr. Linda A. Lumayag, Head of Big Data, Research & Information, Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF); and
8. YBrs. Puan Siti Sarah Khazalle, Head of Finance, Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF).
The discussion was also attended by YBrs. Encik Azril Mohd Amin, Chief Executive Officer of MASA, and MASA’s Senior Research Analyst, YBrs. Encik Azhan Hasan.
This session focused on discussions concerning issues and challenges related to the cost of living, particularly in the socio-economic context, as envisioned for Budget 2025.
During the discussion, several key issues and challenges were identified, alongside proposed solutions to ensure the well-being of the people amid future economic uncertainties. In this regard, the government is urged to be more proactive and responsive in safeguarding the well-being of the people during times of economic uncertainty.
