In July between 6 to 16, 2021 the United Nations meets online for the High Level Political Forum (HLPF) where member states present the Voluntary National Review (VNR) and discuss the implementation of the 2030 agenda.
Malaysia is presenting its 2nd VNR Report on July 15, 2021 (Thursday) between 9:00pm – 1:00am (Malaysia time). Malaysia entered a consultative process with all the relevant agencies and non-government organisations in the preparation of the 2021 VNR Report.
This online consultation is to review the process Malaysia has made over the years and identify both the achievements and recognise the gaps and challenges. In so doing to provide policy directions for the future keeping in mind the noble goals of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV2030) and the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021- 2025).
This review session aims:
1. To provide a platform for the government, civil society and private sector opportunity to understand, review and comment on the process Malaysia has taken on the SDG implementation.
2. To enhance community interest and participation in the localising of the SDGs especially at the district and local authority levels in Malaysia.
3. To make strategic recommendations for the effective enhancement of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (SPV2030) and the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021- 2025) with the SDG agenda of leaving no one behind.
