“Governing Diversity, Multicultural Societies and Faith: A Conversation” with Dr. Hisham A. Hellyer

The last few decades and recent events have witnessed large-scale, bloodletting conflicts and wars driven along religious and ethnic lines. The scale of conflicts and violence is no longer local in nature as they have assumed a global dimension and could impact multicultural societies such as Malaysia.

We have seen in recent weeks how events in faraway places like Sweden and the Netherlands with regards to the Quran burnings, could have repercussions elsewhere.

Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA) and the Centre for Civilizational Dialogue (UMCCD), Universiti Malaya are pleased to bring to you an event entitled, “Governing Diversity, Multicultural Societies and Faith: A Conversation” with Dr. Hisham A. Hellyer, University of Cambridge (UK) and Carnegie Endowment (USA) on Wednesday, 8 February, 2023 at the Senate Room, Level 4, Chancellery Building, Universiti Malaya.

This event will reflect upon some of the challenges around governing diversity in multi-faith and multicultural societies.

Entrance is free. Registration must be done through the link: Registration Form
