KUALA LUMPUR, Wed: Independent think tank, Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA) and Indonesia Strategist, a business-politics and intelligence specialist, recently inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mark a strategic alliance towards a comprehensive regional economic research initiative.

MASA Chief Executive Officer, Azril Mohd Amin who signed the MoU in Jakarta, said the initiative would delve into critical areas such as environmental, social and governance (ESC) practices, business, human rights and emerging economic opportunities.

The primary focus of the strategic alliance between MASA, Indonesia Strategist and its affiliates, was to embark on a comprehensive regional economic research initiative for an innovative and impactful partnership, he said.

The MoU, Azril added, would set the stage for meaningful discussions and cross-border cooperation. “It stands as a fitting prelude to the envisioned collaboration, setting the course for an exciting journey of knowledge exchange and cross-border cooperation.

“It is expected to result in a deeper understanding of the regions’ economic dynamics and the potential for further development,” Azril said.

He also said the partnership between Malaysia and Indonesia highlighted the collaborative spirit required to address complex regional issues and drive sustainable economic growth besides holding the promises of creating new avenues for growth and progress for both countries.

Azril also said he had a fruitful meeting with Eko Ratrianto who is Indonesia Strategist Executive Director. “With over three decades of experience in the banking and capital market industries, Eko Ratrianto stands as a distinguished figure, notably as one of the pioneering architects behind the inception of securitization in Indonesia.

“He is also instrumental in guiding his clients in various domains, including business development, sharia business development, risk management, housing finance and regulatory compliance.”

Chief Executive Officer of Indossari.ID & Socialcapitalindonesia.com, Muhammad Ma’ruf, an affiliate of Indonesia Strategist, who was also present at the meeting, has an excellent career in journalism.

“He brings a wealth of connections and insights from various fields. His extensive professional journey includes his roles as Head of Research at CNBC Indonesia, Senior Correspondent for Bond Analyst at Cogencis Service Limited, Research Contractor at Frost & Sullivan, Senior Reporter at Bloomberg Businessweek Indonesia, and Co-Founder and CEO of Pialang Indonesia.”

Azril also said Ma’ruf’s unique blend of business acumen and creative media and branding strategies would contribute to the breadth and depth of the collaboration.
